Before I start, I'm with the superb BackTo60 campaign (NOT Waspi), BackTo60 being the ones taking this PUTRIDLY EVIL Tory Government to Court on 5th/6th June this year, having won the right to a Judicial Review over the STEALING of our State Pensions for SIX YEARS!

This blog concerns the, in my view, Outrageously Insulting, Unbelievably Ignorant, and Deeply Appalling remarks made by Ann Widdecombe on BBC Devon's 'Inside Out' programme, aired on 04/03/19 where she discussed her role in bringing in (at that time) a 5 YEAR increase in Women's State Pension age, (it's now SIX YEARS!) in what is laughingly referred to as having been 'In The Name Of Equality' whilst she was Pensions Minister at The DWP.

But first, a quote from Ann, from 2010 (and please, remember this as you read on):

Took me three days to find that quote, but trust me, WHEN I found it, I PUNCHED the air in TRIUMPH, yelling "YESSSSSSS!!!!!" to my astounded, and darling dog, Jenny, who grinned at me, wagging her tail, "THAT, dear Jen," I said to her, "is called being Hoisted By Your Own Petard!"

Right, hang on to your hats, because I may well self-combust, if you're lucky, or have an explosion of swearing, or even, oh yes, indeedy, blaspheme, because trust me, even Jesus himself would have been blaspheming, had he had the misfortune to have heard what was being said a few days back.

Anyways ups, there I sat watching this programme which centred around Ann visiting Eve, in her home in South Devon. Ann lives on Dartmoor, so is local, to discuss said State Pension Age changes for women.

Eve's career had been that of a make up artist, and she's met many famous people during her career, but, now in her 60s, she's slowing down, finding she cannot do what she once did. Ah, tell me about THAT, Eve.

She, like MILLIONS of we other 1950s women had lived her life KNOWING that she'd get her State Pension at 60. It had been thus since 1940..and had never changed, thus no man, nor woman, EVER had had ANY need to check their SP age at all. Never.

Imagine her horror when she discovered there was to be NO State Pension AT ALL for her and millions more of us, until she is 66, which will be 2023 for Eve.

Yes, it's knocked us all for six, made many of us terribly ill, especially those who only had our State Pension to rely on, such as myself (see 'Heartbreak' blog.) Some women have had their deep-stress-related illnesses horrifically exacerbated by having their State Pensions denied them, many having to decide whether to eat, or heat, not being able to afford to do both. One of these women was dear Greer, who was part of The BackTo60 team, appearing in the first video BackTo60 made (there are many more now) where she spoke of the many friends she'd already lost to Cancer, who'd been deeply anxious about how to carry on living without their SP, as Greer had become herself.

Greer died, last year. She was 64. She had spent her final years, from 60 to 64, years when she SHOULD have had her State Pension, feeling HAPPY and relatively secure, living, instead, in deep fear and gut-wrenching anxiety. Greer DIED. The GOVT will keep her State Pension, of course, the pension they STOLE from her, the pension she was promised, her whole life long.

So, Eve's quest was to find out HOW MILLIONS of 1950s women have had this increase forced upon them, their pensions stolen from them, c£50,000+ EACH, without us ever having even been informed about this.

Ann SCOFFED when Eve asked her to explain.

Eve: "You know, I made my plans on retiring at 60 and it's the fact that I didn't know, and I didn't know......."

Ann: "That, you see, THAT, I really don't understand, because I was the pension's minister who began the process. First of all we had a big public consultation which received an enormous amount of press coverage, it formed part of the election promises that we made, my recommendation was that we would move from 60 to 65, and that was HUGELY well known and I know because of all the letters I got in from ordinary members of the public saying 'I don't want to work longer.' "

Eve: "So, I think that now, women ARE saying that they didn't know, whether you like it or not, that's what they're saying."

Ann: "Oh, I know they're saying it, but they have no reason not to know!"

Eve: "But I didn't know...."

Ann: "We sent out 5 million letters between 2011 and 2013. FIVE MILLION DARN LETTERS! Didn't you get one?"

Eve: "No. No, and I spoke to my mate up in...."

Ann: "Five MILLION!"

Eve: "I know. But it's 3.8million women affected, and some guys isn't there..."

Ann: "And we sent out 5 million letters!"

Now, what Ann chose, yes, *CHOSE* NOT to mention is that by 2011/2013 most of the 1950s so SEVERELY AFFECTED were just a year or so away from BEING 60.

CLEVER, huh?

It's what Politicians do....politicians who want to HIDE the immoral, cruel and evil things they know have been done to The People, perhaps, I should say.

Also, the claims that this was WELL KNOWN about are, to me, utterly FALSE, as many LAWYERS knew nothing about this, MANY 1950s women having had their divorces based on receiving their State Pensions at 60, not any other age at all. I know, I'm ONE of those women....and there are MANY more like me. So, not even LAWYERS DEALING WITH WOMEN's FINANCES knew that the SP age had changed, LAWYERS who keep up to date with The LAW!

Not even her own DWP knew about it, having women's state pension age as being 60 on MANY of their websites, until just a VERY FEW YEARS AGO!

You could NOT MAKE THIS BULLSHIT UP!

Ann also CHOSE NOT to mention that the letters sent out in 2011/2013 were ONLY to inform us that we'd had ONE YEAR added to our State Pension Age, giving the year our pension was due...and THAT last bit, the new dates is when it all exploded, because MILLIONS of women had had NO IDEA AT ALL about the PREVIOUS FIVE YEARS which had been FORCED upon us due to the 1995 Act, nor Ann Widdecombe's CHOICE to DO this to women, women she KNEW would STRUGGLE BEYOND BELIEF to continue to even EXIST!

IF ANN does not believe me, I suggest she speaks to Steve Webb, former head of DWP, who pushed forward this 2011 rise, then, so he says, was aghast to find out we had NO IDEA about the previous FIVE FECKING YEARS, he going to Cameron and Osborne to beg for this to be rescinded, but they just knocked off £1BILLION from the overall amount. NO woman was given any refund. Steve has written about this. I also spoke to him about it too.

Ann also stated that one of the things she is MOST PROUD of, during her career as a Minister, WAS making women's SPA equal to that of men...

" ..My greatest triumph as a constituency MP was probably getting someone out of jail in Morocco. As a minister, it was equalising the state pension age for women..."

The Govt KNOWS that most women, across their lifetimes, earn around £300,000 LESS than men (make that c£350,000 now!) BECAUSE most of us are Mothers....ALL politicians knew this, ALL of them, from ALL Parties....yet, they ALL SCREWED us anyway, and it was ALL DONE BY A WOMAN who claims to SUPPORT WOMEN!

I'm not Jewish, but....OY VEY!!!!

I ONLY FOUND OUT about my SPA increase BY CHANCE, as I've mentioned elsewhere, when, after being divorced, I wrote to The DWP in 2009 to ask how many years of NI I had on my record. It was 40 years plus. At the bottom of that letter, in a tiny paragraph, it gave my State Pension date as 2020. I was stunned, as I'd lived my life knowing, yes, KNOWING, it was going to be 2015. (!!!!)

Shall we have a look at what else was said in the 'Inside Out' documentary? Yes, let's!

Eve: "You see, I think ages should come down, I think we should all finish at 63."

Ann: "Oh come on, you're joking! How do you imagine The State is going to afford year in, year out, year in, year out, for us to retire 5 years younger than all the rest of the world is retiring? When that pension age was set, as you yourself said, after The First World War, the FIRST World War, you were darn lucky if you got to 75. We've now got 15,000 centenarians in this country, and I'm sorry, I'm going to be very blunt here, it is unreasonable, self-indulgent, and ENTITLED, to think that you can retire at the same age, with a much longer life-expectancy at The State's expense. I'm not saddling the current generation with that and nor should you want to."

Eve: "They feel aggrieved that they can't retire. They want to retire. Also, they can't get their bus pass, they can't get their heating, and some of them are, you know, being asked to work, they're Carers as well, so they're probably looking after their grandkids, and kids paying their college funds.....so...."

Ann: "But doesn't it occur to you that ALL generations are in that position....that lots of people who...."

Eve: "Well, not the ones who've got the previous pension, no...."

Ann: "....that lots of people who go to The Job Centre can't actually afford the buses there..."

No, Eve, our SPA was, is, and always will be *60* and NO OTHER AGE, and we must NEVER be made to feel guilty about this fact. We've had a most heinous crime done to us. NEVER forget that.

So, 15,000 people have lived to be 100. Wonderful. WELL DONE to them ALL. The cost of providing them with their pensions is a mere drop in the ocean. I should also add that the UK SP is the WORST in the industrialized world (Yup, how APPALING is that!) and those who are older get even LESS £amounts than those who are more recent pensioners, as the SP rises are NOT simply carried forward to older generations too, which is also appalling! So, those Centenarians are on an even Greater £PITTANCE than most others, thus cost us even LESS to look after. SO shaming! Meanwhile, these filthy greedy politicians take huge salaries, huge pensions..and many, huge expenses!

The very elderly are MORE than balanced out by the FAR GREATER AMOUNT OF God Alone Knows How Many THOUSANDS of people who die before they even get a PENNY of their State Pensions, of course...ALL that money just 'disappearing' into Govt Coffers 'somewhere'....Suicide amongst young men has rocketed, the age at which we are dying is DECREASING, especially amongst older women (My, my, WHAT a surprise!)

Also, how ODD that she didn't mention that MANY countries have far lower SP ages than the UK has, Poland returning to 60 for women and 65 for men in October 2017. Vietnam having a woman's SPA of 55. Russia's is low too, albeit Putin wants to increase it, but The Russian People are NOT having it...turing out on the streets to voice their anger, he lowering the rises.....Many other countries too who are lower than us...AND...who have HIGHER State Pension amounts too!

Ah, the things Politicians CHOOSE to leave out.......

I can fully understand why Eve didn't come back to her with this, because I think the poor woman was feeling utterly worn out with the venomous answers being almost shouted at her...and that puts a lot of people off pursuing what they were going to say.....

Just to remind ourselves of this bit.....

But wait, surely this means that ANN is unreasonable, self-indulgent and ENTITLED, as she TOOK her STATE PENSION AT 60, perfectly HAPPY to do so, despite SCREWING her fellow women, financially and emotionally? And, of course, WE are the 'current generation' paying for HER STATE PENSION.....

Our children and grandchildren worry about us all, knowing the state so many of us are in. We cannot help them out financially. THIS is Tory Intergenerational Fairness you see, make The Children pay for The Parents, whilst also asset-stripping their parents/grandparents of as much as possible whilst they're still alive, thus leaving their families with NOTHING when they die, whilst they do ALL they can to turn our children against us!! And then, there are those in the younger generation who are now losing their Mothers/Grannies FAR earlier than they should, because of how ill so many of us are becoming, or because some can literally take NO MORE and end their lives.

BASTARDS & BITCHES ALL who've done this to us!

ALSO, please note her comments above, about people on Benefits not being able to afford buses either, not a HINT of shame about that, nor pity, nor guilt, over what her Rotten-To-The-Core Party, these Evil Tyrants, have done to our Welfare State, to us, plunging so many wholly decent, deserving, vulnerable people into POVERTY and DESPAIR!

The Tories, Ann's Party, have run The NHS into the ground. They've also sold massive chunks of it off, to the private sector, yet Ann chooses NOT to mention this.

University Education was free until the 1990s, when Labour brought in fees, albeit with maintenanc grants, which the Tories later scrapped. It was also The Tories who raised tuition fees to over £9,000 a year...and they were raised by a man called David Willetts, when he was Tory Minister for Universities. He later went on to write a book blaming MY GENERATION, those born in 1955, for ALL the ills of the world, which is where, in my view, a LOT of this BULLSHIT is coming from against older people now. None of it's being blamed on Bankers, Politicians nor Corporations, nope, just We, The People, and only MY Generation!!!

ODD that Ann mentioned NOTHING about her Party's part in the ending of free Uni Education in that they just INCREASED the vast sums students are now charged, forcing The Young into VAST debt whilst still in their early 20s, eh? Even more odd that she CHOSE not to mention that Labour are aiming to bring back free Uni Education, if they come to power.

Final Salary Pension Schemes? I'm sure many benefitted from these, especially MPs with their VAST salaries, BUT, there are a HUGE amount of women who DO NOT HAVE A PRIVATE PENSION at all, and those who do, probably only have a very small one, due to...all together now...being Mothers/Carers4ElderlyParents&In-Laws, therefore they are totally stuffed...and...stuffed TWICE over, because those women who DO have private pension schemes, no matter how meagre, are usually denied ANY form of Benefit.

ODD too that Ann did NOT mention that men's pension pots are FIVE TIMES LARGER than women's.......

This HYPOCRITICAL woman who professed to CARE about and SUPPORT Mothers, in every way possible, helped to 'CRUCIFY' us...and our DAUGHTERS and GRAND-DAUGHTERS too....for most women will now work until they drop, never being able to earn as much as men, UNLESS they either ABANDON their children to 'Minders', torturing themselves AND their children, (The Grannies having to work until THEY drop too!) or, unless some HUMANE Govt is born which PAYS women to stay home and raise their children, care for their parents/in-laws...and I mean Pays Women a DECENT £AMOUNT, also giving them the option of a Private Pension Package, for raising the next generation and caring for the previous ones....

"There is a special place in HELL for women who betray other women." so the saying goes.

From the narrator of the programme: "...In 2016, The Work and Pensions Select Committee said that successive governments had NOT done enough to make women aware and information campaigns were too little, too late, for many...."

Yes, ANOTHER IMPORTANT POINT which Ann CHOSE to NOT mention....

The thing is though, and this is where I disagree with WASPI entirely, this was NEVER about 'NOTICE' at all. This is about our SPA being 60, we living our lives to that knowledge. We should NEVER have been involved in this insanity, our SPA being HONOURED, as should ALL that age have been honoured for ALL WOMEN given 60 as their SPA, ALL of us, 50s/60s/70s women too.

Somehow, ANN got HER State Pension at 60.

We are ABSOBLOODLYLUTELY ENTITLED to HAVING our State Pension AT/from 60, to which we ALL had a LEGAL EXPECTATION.

And to be insulted by some of the greediest humans around, they being politicians, in my view, who ensure THEY are protected, vast salaries, vast expenses and vast pensions wise, ALL of which are paid to them by The People, sickens me to the pit of my stomach.

Ann Widdecombe CHOSE to do what she did to us...and is PROUD of it too....her PROUDEST moment AS a Minister, to send so many of us into this HELL.

They KNEW that so very many of us would suffer. They KNEW THIS!! They BLOODY WELL KNEW IT!!

I won't EVER recover, nor, I know, will many others, for they've spent these last few years in terror, trapped inside the cruelest Welfare State of my lifetime, broken apart by the EVIL of Tories, who are disassociated, disconnected...and, in my view, happy to committ Gross Negligence Manslaughter on a regular basis now, KNOWING they're tearing apart so many lives, KNOWING they're driving so many to their deaths, whilst they blame US for THEIR wrong-doing!

NONE of this is OUR fault. Not a SINGLE part of this! Yet they try to make us feel guilty, insult us, degrade us, lie about us........

We've been DEFRAUDED of our State Pensions, which are rightfully ours from 60...and EVERY government since 1995 has done NOTHING to put this right, no matter which Party they are from! Not a single politician from any Party either has had the GUTS to stand up and say "These women have been treated APPALLINGLY and MUST have every penny of their rightful State Pensions returned, immediately!"

NOT ONE!

These people are OUR SERVANTS!! They are paid for BY US! Yet, they betray us and treat us like SHIT!

WHY ARE WE ALLOWING THIS??????????? WHY??????????????????

As to this dreadful woman who BLAMES us for not knowing what it was impossible for most of us to ever know ABOUT, so cunningly was it hidden away, who then INSULTS us, whilst SHE crows about how much she's enjoying her retirement, (WITH HER State Pension, don't forget!) becoming a 'celebrity', doing programme after programme, making money very easily, on top of her MPs pension and her State Pension...well, that takes the biscuit....

It's REVOLTING, to be honest, truly, madly, deeply.....REVOLTING!

She claims to be religious.....Well, all I can say to that is "May Her God Have Mercy Upon Her" for the Harrowing Horror she's helped to inflict upon us will NOT sit easy with ANY God that I know of....See also 'Of Strong & Stable Tories', my blog on Devi The Devil and how he LOVES Tories.....

And nothing, but NOTHING would EVER induce me to take part in any show so low, so demeaning and so revolting, in my view, as 'Big Brother', as she did...but then, I have morals and standards...and I'd rather eat from rubbish bins that lower myself to that degrading level of filth, for money.....

I tell you what I'm also ENTITLED to, not just my SP from 60, but also the £INTEREST on that nearly FOUR YEARS of missing money, plus the other TWO YEARS still to go, AND, £Compensation for the irreparable damage caused to my health, both mental and physical, and for every single Lost Year Of My Life that I'm enduring, every fecking 'Assessment', every fecking Brown Envelope which throws me into a state of almost PTSD, whilst those who've done this to us all party, party, PARTY!!

EVERY woman thus treated is ENTITLED to this.

We are ALL WORTHY of our State Pensions from 60, ALL of us, rich or poor, it matters not!
